Stationery Lives Archive

‘Valley Artists have delivered yet again and this time an absolute diamond. “Stationery Lives” performed by Micaela Elphick and Karen Jones, and directed by Annette Rowlison is a theatrical feast – clean,  raw and punchy – shaped by letter exchanges between two middle-aged women over the span of a few years.   The friendship expressed in the correspondence between these two is variously endearing or brittle — confused by petty jealousies and insecurities — but chiefly the women are bound by common affection and need. Micaela and Karen are flawless in their timing, their performances are brilliantly funny – laugh out loud funny. One sits waiting for the next punchline as they roll out one after another as each letter is read. There is sheer joy in this play. I’m so glad I have another ticket to go and see it again!’  … Alice Parsons
