Valley Artists

Show Offs

"Valley Artists is a good name for a group of artists who live and work in a valley. It would be a good name for a company that puts on plays and theatrical productions. And it is. But it's a lot more than both of those things. It's a company that has become an institution, with a reputation for putting on entertainment of the highest quality and standards..."

In 2007, after ten years of entertaining the people of this valley, a number of those who were there at the start sat down to record the history of Valley Artists.

Show Offs is the title of the DVD that Wojt Kowaluk produced to record the achievements of "a bunch of show-offs who enjoy each others company", and it's great viewing. The above quote is from the cover notes.

You can become a part of that bunch, still enjoying themselves, by becoming a sponsor. If you'd like to know more about us, and would like a copy of that DVD, contact Karen on 4998 3361 and we'll organize to get one into your hands.

Sponsors are in for a treat on May 8, when we'll all travel back to the post-war years of the 1940s for a trip to the Laguna Tivoli. Complete with a singing dog, I hear. It's not too late to get your tickets by becoming a sponsor - phone Karen or Fiona (4998 3339) or email sponsors@valleyartists.org.

After the dinner, it's on to our next show - David Williamson's Money and Friends - directed by Bob Philippe. Laguna Hall, opening night July 2, performances on July 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

We have an emailed newsletter - Not the Programme Notes - to let you know what's happening.

Subscribe by emailing info@valleyartists.org, and we'll add you to the list.
