It's FILM FESTIVAL TIME! And there's still time to get your film finished and submitted for the world famous Wollombi Valley Short Film Festival, as entries close 12 September.

You would have seen posters all around town telling you that it's on but if not then here's the deal.

• Duration: 10 mins or under.
• Genre: Any and All! So you can make a doco, a comedy, drama, a hybrid of any of them or anything you like, as long as it's entertaining!
• Delivery: On DVD or minidv.
• Entry fee for filmmakers: $15 (what? That is so cheap).
• Prizes: Cash!! First prize $1000, 2nd prized $750, 3rd Prize $500 and People's Choice $250 which yet again has been proudly sponsored by Laguna Wine Bar (www.lagunawinebar.com.au).

And this year one of our local winemakers, Noyce Bros. has sponsored the event with their great local vintages. (www.noycebros.com.au) All entrants will be notified whether they have made it to the FINALISTS screening, which will be held in our very own cinema at Laguna Hall on Sat 3rd October 2009. Yes it is the long weekend so heaps of reasons to get your friends up to see YOUR film up on the BIG screen.

Don't forget to mark our end of year production "The Ugly Duckling" in your diaries. Rehearsals are underway and we are so proud of our Wollombi youth who have committed to making this fantastic production of A. A. Milne's comedy classic to be directed by Cordelia Howell.

Dates are: Opening night Friday October 30th, with performances on the 31st, then November 1st, 4th, 5th 6th with closing night on Saturday November 7th.

Valley Artists are calling for EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST from anyone in the community who would like to be involved in our first production for 2010.

David Williamson's hit comedy MONEY AND FRIENDS to be Directed by Bob Philippe.

This is a very exciting opportunity for eight adults and one younger (20's) male to act in one of Williamson's most loved plays. Casting needs to be completed by December 09.
